The PBGYAA Lacrosse program is a member of the South Florida Youth Lacrosse League.  The teams compete against teams from the other member programs which range from Weston, at the Southwest corner of Broward County, to Martin County.  While this is a recreational league and not a travel program, the teams in any given year may play away games as far as 60 miles from our home fields.  The teams are filled on a first come, first serve basis, and the number of teams for each division is determined by the level of interest and the availability of coaches.

The teams are organized by grade level.  The divisions are as follows:

Boys

Division                       Grades        Bantam                          K-2
Lightning                        3-4
Junior                             5-6 Senior                            7-8

Girls

Division                                Grades        Bantam                                       K-2         Junior                                         3-5         Senior                                        6-8

The registration fees for the 2010 season total $195 for Palm Beach Gardens residents and $210 for nonresidents.  In addition, players are expected to obtain the following equipment:  helmet, gloves, arm and shoulder pads, stick, sliding shorts and cup, mouthpiece and cleats.  The PBGYAA will provide a uniform and a reversible practice jersey as well as certain specialized equipment.

Lacrosse is an expensive sport.  To keep the participation costs to a minimum, each family will be asked to participate in a fundraiser and to provide a certain number of volunteer hours at the fields.  Families that would like to participate in the program but are financially constrained may send an e-mail requesting financial assistance to lacrosse@pbgyaa.com.  The board will evaluate each request confidentially.

Registration opens around September 1 for the following spring season.  Practices begin in January and games usually run from early February through early May.  Typically, practices last approximately two hours and are conducted two nights a week and games are on Saturdays. Most home games and practices are conducted on the PGA National fields on Northlake Blvd. just west of the Turnpike.  Registration is conducted online and may be accessed using the following link: https://www.bluesombrero.com/Default.aspx?alias=www.bluesombrero.com/pbgyaa&ctl=login

After completing the registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a “Parent Packet” attached.  Please print, complete and mail the information requested to PBGYAA Lacrosse at the PO Box listed below. Please make sure to include your US Lacrosse paperwork, copy of the player’s birth certificate, a copy of a physical examination form reflecting a the results of a sports or back to school physical completed in the 9 months preceding the season and a copy of a recent report card or other evidence of grade level.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us by email us at lacrosse@pbgyaa.com or by regular mail at PGBYAA Lacrosse, P.O. Box 32518, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33420.
